Law Professors Want To Kick PROTECT-IP To The Curb

By: Darlene Storm ~ Computer World

“When Internet law professors come together to say something fails the test to be constitutional, wouldn’t you think they know what they are talking about? How many groups of professionals can shout from the rooftops before politicians hear and heed that wisdom? It is time to give America back the freedoms and rights for which the USA is supposed to stand for and was founded upon, like freedom of speech.”

“The Volokh Conspiracy announced that more than 90 (and still counting) “law professors who teach and write about intellectual property and Internet law” signed a letter opposing Senator Leahy’s PROTECT-IP Act and asked Congress to reject it”

Protect IP Act 2011:

“Protect IP Act (short for Preventing Real Online Threats to Economic Creativity and Theft of Intellectual Property Act of 2011, also known as United States Senate Bill S.968) is a bill introduced on May 12, 2011 by senator Patrick Leahy (D-VT)[1] and aimed at denying access and linking to “pirate” or “rogue” websites, especially those registered outside the U.S., which are “dedicated to infringing activities”.[2]

Having been passed out of the Senate Judiciary Committee, the Bill was placed on hold by Senator Ron Wyden (D-OR).[3]

The legislation is a re-write of the Combating Online Infringement and Counterfeits Act which failed to pass in 2010.[4] “

America is no longer a country run by the people for the people.

It is run by a minority of the rich and powerful.

That is one of many reasons I moved to Indonesia and have been happily living here now for more than 10 years.

I do not miss being spied upon when I go to the toilet.

I do not miss having a camera record my every move where I go.

I do not miss thinking the black car outside might be the men in black.

I do not miss knowing the police have the right to lock me away without legal support for life and torture me because someone may have said I was a terrorist, REASONABLE DOUBT, opens a lot of doors.

I do not miss seeing politicians whom are expert at lying get away with murder.

I was happy America finaly got a black president, BUT WHO IS THIS MAN AND HOW COULD ANYONE LIKE THIS GET PAST THE AMERICAN PUBLIC EYE.

money rules … Obama and Bill Clinton or the proof.

I do not miss … a lot of things.

    What I Miss,
I miss Burger King sometimes :) and greasy home cooking diners.

Glenn Madden free from … it all for now.
